Marine Sightseeing Tours by Zodiac
Step on board our 21 foot rigid hull inflatable Zodiac Hurricane as we explore the beautiful waters and many marine parks of the Salish Sea. The vessel provides a platform from which our guides can share their knowledge about First Nations culture, European settlement and provide interpretation of our natural history.
"The Zodiac tour far exceeded our expectations. Our guide was very knowledgeable about marine and terrestrial ecosystems, native and European history and modern day events."

Calling all birders and budding naturalists!

This tour takes you on an exploration of some of the islands of the Salish Sea, with a focus on the dynamic and distinct ecosystem of Mitlenatch Island. Nicknamed the “
Galapagos of the Georgia Strait” this island is a nesting colony, home to 30,000 nesting gulls, cormorants, and others species of sea birds. Otters, seal and sea lions also make their home here.
After circumnavigating the island by boat, we will disembark to explore the spectacular variety of spring and summer wild flowers, which include many native species and even prickly pear cacti. Our shore time concludes with a delicious homemade lunch, after which we will visit by boat Twin and Cortes Islands, Desolation Sound and Copeland Island Marine Park. Beautiful at all times of year, but May is best for wildflowers.

Some custom charters we have done:
The Zodiac is a seaworthy vessel, commonly used for whale watching on the outer coast of Vancouver Island, and also by the Coast Guard. It is outfitted with radar, GPS, and VHF radio so that we may communicate back to our base station in Lund.
The 4 stroke Yamaha engine is extremely quiet and has low environmental emissions. Although it is able to travel at high speeds, our tours are characterized by frequent stops, where we may idle or drift, as we take in the sights and sounds around us.
Transport Canada Certified skippers provide passenger safety briefings and carry a full compliment of emergency equipment and communication devices. On our tours, each guest will be wearing what is known as a floater suit - a perfect wind breaker and a personal flotation device at the same time.
