Getting Here

We honour and acknowledge that we reside in the territory of the Tla’amin Nation.

Known to the Tla’amin Nation as ƛaʔamɩn, the protected harbour was a camping area and former village site to the people who lived in this region for thousands of years and still do today. European settlement in the Harbour was in 1889 with the arrival of the Thulin brothers from Sweden and the site was named Lund.

It is a wonderful community, long known as the gateway to the beautiful Desolation Sound, even before it was designated a marine park area. The area offers more than just a spectacular ocean playground - it offers forested trails, clear inland lakes, cultural and arts events, and some wonderful local restaurants and accommodation providers. Lund is situated at the start or end of scenic Highway 101, one of the longest highways in the world, stretching along the Pacific Coast of the America’s and ending in Chile. The village is a part of the Powell River Regional District and the whole area is our backyard for the adventures and programs we offer.

You will find our Terracentric office above the famous Nancy’s Bakery, right on the harbourfront in Lund. Our physical address for the office is 1451 B Highway 101, Lund, BC.

By Car

Although we are on BC’s mainland coast, the drive here includes taking a ferry or two as the ferries are our marine highway bridging the gaps created by the ocean. The ferry rides themselves are worth the trip!

From Vancouver:
Travel by BC Ferries from the Horseshoe Bay terminal to Langdale. At Langdale you will drive north on Highway 101 along the Lower Sunshine Coast until this section of Highway 101 ends at second ferry terminal, Earls Cove. From there you will travel to the Saltery Bay terminal. You are now in the Powell River Regional District. A 1/2 hour drive will take you to downtown Powell River and another 1/2 hour will take you all the way to Lund!!

From Vancouver Island:
Near the communities of Courtenay and Comox on the eastern shore of central Vancouver Island is the Little River Ferry Terminal. Board this ferry to Westview (Powell River).

By Air

Pacific Coastal Airlines has daily flights between Vancouver International Airport (South Terminal) and the Powell River airport. Westjet Airllines also offers service into Comox, from which you may take a shuttle to the BC Ferries terminal at Little River to travel to Powell River and onto Lund.

By Bus

Current regional transit service between Vancouver and the Powell River / Lund region is offered by the Sunshine Coast Connector and within our Powell River Regional District transportation options include taxi service and limited BC transit service between Powell River and Lund.

Parking in Lund

As a small busy harbour there are limited parking options.

There is a pay parking lot for day trips and longer stays right in the heart of the harbour, which is operated by the Lund Resort. Their lot is located right beside our office.

For guests on our day tours, we recommend you park with the Lund Resort.

For our own guests who are multiday renting, we do have a few spots available at our private launch site for a small daily fee, allowing you the convenience of loading / unloading right at our launch site.

What our guests are saying about us...

"I have been in over 20 countries and 49 US states. Our guide, Simon, made sure this was a trip to remember. Perfect weather and water conditions. Christine(s) (hint: there are 2) were wonderful, friendly and very professional. I am vegan and Christine, the owner, went out of her way to make sure I had a great meal. Homemade foods from almond pate, a delicious remoulade, an olive tapenade, and topped off with cookies. I literally had the trip of a lifetime and would recommend this journey and Terracentric very highly."
