The Details

Experience life under the sea! What better way to really explore the marine environment than by becoming one with the ocean. From voracious multi armed predators (they don’t like people!) to a little creature that has the largest penis to body size ratio, get ready to be amazed. With a strong educational focus, these tours will take place in the outdoor classroom of numerous islands and sheltered bays just minutes from Lund harbour.

 

    

 

 

Terracentric is pleased to team up with certified PADI divers, Dan (Instructor) and Michelle Doyle (Divemaster) of Planet Scuba. After diving and teaching internationally, Dan and Michelle specifically chose to live in Powell River, “Dive capital of Canada” so they could continue diving. Powell River has world class diving opportunities and a marine environment that features an abundance of life and a variety of dive sites. Jacques Cousteau called these waters “second only to the Red Sea for diversity and life”. 

 

 

 

 

  

 

That sounds great but isn’t cold? Actually, our waters do boast some of the warmest temperatures north of San Francisco, but we do wear wet suits as we snorkel and dive.

As with all our programs, no previous experience is necessary; however you must be a comfortable in the water and be able to swim.

 

Snorkel Tours

Island Time

After a short boat trip to picturesque nearby islands, we will learn techniques and tricks of snorkeling. Then we take to the water, to leisurely explore sheltered bays, rock formations and the brilliant purples, greens and oranges of some of our underwater marine life. Warm up in the sun while enjoying a snack and continue the conversation with your guide about the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean!

Snorkel in the Sound: Experience Desolation

 

A tour of Desolation Sound and an opportunity to snorkel!

Take in the amazing beauty of mountains rising out of the sea, as we travel by boat to some of our favourite spots, learning of the areas fascinating natural and human history. We will drop anchor in a sheltered bay and head to shore for a picnic lunch and preparations for snorkeling. A vertical wall, home to sea stars, sponges, worms, anemones and more, provides an up close introduction to the beauty below the waters surface. After our snorkel, we will again board the boat to return to Lund. As we leave the sound, store those memories away for rainy day replay!

Ocean Day Camp: Project Aware & Snorkeling

This is a great family day! We begin with Project Aware, an ocean environment and awareness program that provides fun activities for an experiential approach to learning about the marine environment. After our on shore lunch, we will heighten our awareness even further as we take to the water with masks, snorkels and fins.
The entire day takes place away from Lund, on one of the nearby islands.

Discover Scuba Tours

Meant to give people a taste of diving, these tours offer basic theory and essential skills and an opportunity to participate in a dive to a maximum of 5 meters. Our instructors are PADI certified (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) with years of international diving experience. PADI is the worlds largest dive certification agency, with a commitment to the care of the marine environment.

Our instructors bring to their scuba students a passion for the underwater world, a concern for the aquatic environment, and the experience and expertise of professional diving. They enjoy working with guests new to scuba, ensuring your comfort every step of the way!

 

    

 

 

 

 

Intro to Scuba

After learning basic theory and skills you will get personalized attention as you don all the equipment and literally dive hand in hand with your instructor.

Scuba Diving Explorer

This full day explorer is recognized by PADI and can be used towards an Open Water course anywhere in the world. The difference between the Intro and the Explorer: more in depth theory and skills mastery and a side by side dive with your instructor.

Experienced Divers

Are you an experienced diver? Pack up your dive ticket, log book and head to Lund. This area offers a number of dives, from a sunken Mermaid, to boat wrecks, to vertical walls, caves and more. Our guides can customize a dive experience for you from a few hours to a full day.
