Join us in the traditional territory of the Tla’Amin First Nations by journeying to an uninhabited island in the Salish Sea. Participate in a traditional welcoming ceremony to the sea and to the island. Once on shore, we will walk through a unique coastal eco system consisting of rocky bluffs, sandy beaches, orchards, meadows and forests. Your guide will share some of the teachings of the Salish peoples, their lives and their intricate connection to the landscape. Together we will share traditional foods and enjoy the beauty of the lands and sea around us. The day concludes with our return boat trip to the village of Lund, where the curve of time spans thousands of years.

Calling all birders and budding naturalists!

This tour takes you on an exploratory of some of the islands of the Salish Sea, with a focus on the dynamic and distinct ecosystem of Mitlenatch Island. Nicknamed the “Galapagos of the Georgia Strait” this island is a nesting colony, home to 30,000 nesting gulls amongst others species of sea birds. Otters, seal and sea lions also make their home here.

After circumnavigating the island by boat, we will disembark to explore the spectacular variety of spring and summer wild flowers, which include many native species and even prickly pear cacti. Our shore time concludes with a delicious homemade lunch, after which we will visit by boat Twin and Cortes Islands, Desolation Sound and Copeland Island Marine Park.
